Paso One Block Challenge™ Field Day

November 17th, 2026 at 12:00pm, at Paso de Record Vineyard
One Block Challenge
Paso Robles

Date: Tuesday, November 17
Time:  12 noon – 2 pm
Location: Paso de Record Vineyard

We’re wrapping up another fantastic year of the One Block Challenge™ in Paso Robles and getting ready to head into our third year together in 2027.

To close out the season, we’re bringing the Paso grower community together at Paso de Record Vineyard with Randy Record. We’ll be exploring one of the most exciting tools in regenerative vineyard management: livestock integration and managed grazing.

We’ll be joined by Nic Moss, owner of Bunchgrass Grazing, who brings more than a decade of experience in regenerative land management and ecological education. Over the past six years, Nic and his team have designed and implemented regenerative grazing systems across public and private lands throughout the Central Coast, including several local regenerative vineyards.

His work uses targeted sheep and goat grazing to help support soil health, biodiversity and greater ecosystem resilience, while balancing the practical realities of livestock management with broader land and restoration goals.

Nic will take us into the practical side of grazing: how and when to bring animals into the vineyard, what good grazing management actually looks like, infrastructure needs, and the opportunities and challenges that come with integrating livestock into vineyards.

We’ll also look at how grazing can support broader vineyard goals, including nutrient cycling, soil health, biodiversity and reducing reliance on mechanical passes.

As always, this is designed to be an informal and highly practical session, with plenty of time to walk the vineyard, ask questions, exchange ideas and hear from other growers about what they’re seeing in the field.

Whether you’re already participating in the One Block Challenge™, have joined us at previous Paso field days, or are simply curious about regenerative viticulture and livestock integration, we’d love to have you there.

Looking Ahead to Year Three!

Paso Robles holds a special place in the story of the One Block Challenge™. It was here that RVF launched the original pilot program, with a small group of growers willing to test new ideas, learn together and help shape what the 1BC could become. From that original group in Paso Robles, the One Block Challenge™ has grown into an international movement, with programs now spanning the state of California, the UK, South Africa, New Zealand and Chile, and new initiatives continuing to take shape, including Australia, France and beyond. As we head into Year Three, we’re incredibly grateful to the growers who helped start this journey and continue to inspire one another through their openness, experimentation and shared learning. Come join us at Paso de Record on November 17 as we celebrate how far we’ve come, learn together, and look ahead to what’s next for the Paso community and the growing One Block Challenge™ movement around the world.
