Jancis Robinson OBE ME appointed Patron of the RVF
We are really proud to welcome Jancis as our Patron, reflecting a shared commitment to pursuing true, holistic sustainability in the world of wine.
Jancis has championed sustainability in wine throughout her 50-year wine-writing career, including her successful campaign to reduce bottle weights. Over the years, she has consistently used her platform to raise awareness of pressing environmental issues ranging from climate change and carbon capture, to recycling efficiency and farming systems.
More recently, Jancis has set her sights on defining what ‘true sustainability’ means for wine and challenging all members of the industry to take a more critical, informed and proactive approach to environmental and social responsibility. Her vision for wine to ‘go beyond sustainability’ mirrors our core mission to not only sustain but actively regenerate vineyards through practices that improve soil health, biodiversity and resilience.
The Regenerative Viticulture Foundation plays a crucial role as the only global organisation dedicated to making regenerative farming practices scalable, credible and practical across the wine industry. Their work ensures that sustainable viticulture is not just an ideal, but a reality that benefits our planet and future generations.

Her influence will play a pivotal role in inspiring the industry to move beyond token gestures and embrace the kind of transformative change that is essential for the long-term health of our vineyards and the planet.”
Jancis’ appointment marks a new chapter in the RVF’s efforts to drive real change in the industry. As Patron, she will play a vital role in amplifying the foundation’s work and encouraging winegrowers, producers and consumers to take bold steps towards a more environmentally responsible wine industry.
