This is a great new study! It shows that more is not necessarily better… just adding more practices together is not as important as what those practices are, especially when you take into consideration your own vineyard context.

However, there are some excellent general findings:

1. Long-term – and by this the authors mean more than 10 years!  – or cover cropping improves soil health
2. It’s even better when combined with composting
3. You can kick start it with animal grazing, to reduce the duration to 6 years
